“You saw a city for the first time only last week,” Shammus said, turning from the melting corpses.

“Them look like they never seen city.” Gum shrugged. “That why i need sword. Learn them what I learn about gentleman fighting.”

“You’d scratch the awesome dragon painted on it so… no,” he asserted. “Find another way to duel. Besides, nothing in this fallen keep would ever agree to something so dumb.”

Gum puffed up. “You challenge my honor of city?”

The sorcerer sighed. “Stick to what you know.”

The big man scratched himself where the furs were beginning to rub. “Rocks?”

Day Eight (continued):

…See attached sketch. But, perhaps imagine it with rather less fire. I seem to have gotten somewhat carried away again.

Also, I have collected samples in no less than four distinct shades of green. Oh! Other members of my party have finally taken an interest! The large man with the axe came and stood beside me as i explained the difference between sacrifices to a mad god and scientific research. He accidentally trod upon and ruined the subject’s skull.  Admittedly, thereafter i didn’t have to talk so loud to be heard over the wailing as i sawed.
